“When I was at school I always wanted to work in a bank and went on several work experience programs. I was even offered a job at one of them. I’m glad I didn’t take it though because specialising in payroll is far more enjoyable and rewarding. It requires you to be honest and professional, and it involves working with numbers and money, so in a way I can fulfil my aspirations by ensuring our clients’ employees are paid accurately and on time.”

As Payroll Manager, Devila looks after the monthly payroll processes of more than 70 clients, making sure that they are working as efficiently and effectively as possible, and in full compliance with the relevant regulations.

She has an Advanced Diploma in Applied Payroll Management from the University of Derby (in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Management), and considers herself a bit of a perfectionist – a useful trait given that so much of her role hinges on accuracy and attention to detail.
