“Working with Goodwille has meant that we can focus on selling and delivering great projects to our customers whilst the administration of running our business is taken care of. In particular we have a great working relationship with our financial controller which is extremely important in the early phase of our growth.”

What Challenges Were
They Facing?
Nordcloud entered the UK through ‘one of the big 4’ accountancy firms during the summer of 2014 with the plans to explode onto the London scene through rapid recruitment and development during its opening year. London is seen as the European hub for cloud technology and the UK is crucial for their global development. Nordcloud looked for an efficient, proactive and cross support service provider who valued their relationship and the importance of their newly established subsidiary. The Finnish parent company, Nordcloud Oy, required a prompt and efficient set up, so the UK recruitment and sales could start immediately.

How Did Goodwille Help Them
Solve It?
This well established SME from Finland was recommended to make contact with Goodwille by their Finnish accountancy firm – with in-house Finnish speakers, a proven track record with Nordic clients and vast experience in helping tech businesses it seemed like a logical choice. Goodwille took care of the relevant registrations and insurances during the summer, so they were ready to start recruiting during Quarter 4 of 2014. With growth comes greater responsibility and as their acting Company Secretary, Goodwille ensures they have all the necessary arrangements in place. In addition to the Company Secretarial support, Goodwille assist Nordcloud with day-to-day financial administration, intercompany reporting, VAT, expenses and payroll for their seven employees based in London.
What Was
The Outcome?
Located in Farringdon, central London, Nordcloud has been operational in the UK for the past 18months and during that time has worked with over 30 customers from a wide range of industry sectors. Without doubt, interest in moving IT infrastructure away from traditional data centres or even from customers own premises has accelerated especially with such global heavyweights as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure (MS Azure) building cloud computing services that deliver on-demand computing meaning organisations can move faster, lower IT costs, and scale applications to meet customer demand.
Nordcloud takes these building blocks from AWS and MS Azure and build solutions for their customers. Indeed, Goodwille migrated their on-premise servers, databases and applications to AWS on the advice of Nordcloud.
Looking forward, Nordcloud will be launching a number of campaigns between now and the summer focusing on customers wishing to migrate their development and test environments, their web applications and their databases to the cloud and would welcome the opportunity to talk to any of Goodwille’s clients.
