BioGaia is a Swedish probiotic company that has been at the forefront of microbiome research for more than 30 years.
They have an extensive research network, which allows them to work closely with the global scientific community to advance the understanding of probiotics and the human microbiome. Around 10 percent of their net sales is invested in research and development to expand their product portfolio further, discover new bacteria strains and deepen the knowledge of probiotics.
Their products contain strains of the lactic acid bacterium L. reuteri (Limosilactobacillus reuteri, formerly known as Lactobacillus reuteri). L. reuteri has co-evolved with humans and, as a result, has a strong adaptation and naturally colonises and interacts with the human body.
