Performance & Reward

Reward Packages

In order to attain and maintain a high-achieving workplace culture, companies often opt for performance and reward strategies to ensure that their employees capabilities, behaviours, performance and skills are recognised in the best way that they can be.

Performance Reviews

Performance Reviews or Appraisal Processes are typically used in Companies to motivate employees. Typically employees will be set objectives at the beginning of their appraisal year which will be monitored over the course of the year, maybe with a mid-year review and end-of-year review. Employees’ performance against their objectives will be reviewed and an appropriate reward given. This can be a team reward or individual reward, typically in the form of a bonus.

Sometimes employers are faced with a challenge where their employees perhaps lack skills or expertise in a certain area and may need some help to improve their performance. HR’s role in establishing a personal improvement plan is to work with the employee’s line manager to put some objectives in place, together with a clear plan on how they can be achieved within a reasonable timeframe, identifying what support may be needed to help the employee get back on track.
